Streets and Alleyways
The last of the four posts from my recent trip to Canada. The first five pictures are from the alleyway behind our Airbnb in Montreal, and the rest are from Quebec City.
Olympic Stadium and Botanical Gardens
This Olympic Stadium was constructed for the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. It towers over the east side of the city, and is even visible from the Mountain. The structure is simply massive but when I visited it was closed down and seemed almost abandoned and run-down, giving off a strange Ozymandias impression. The structure pictured below hovers over the dome-like stadium and sits adjacent to the bio-dome and the Botanical Gardens, which we visited afterwards.
The stadium looks almost like a UFO. |

Note the Olympic Stadium, visible from the Botanical Gardens. |
In the Gardens. |
We came across a group of ducks that were napping by the pond. |
Mont Royal
Another set of pictures from Montreal, QC. Mont Royal, the city's namesake, is a mountain (technically an extinct volcano) that lies in the center of the city. On its peak, there is a park and an amazing outlook over the south side of the city. The giant cross pictured below stands on the other side of the mountain, another icon of Montreal. It was originally erected centuries ago, though it was replaced and furnished with lights in the late 19th century.
